Your’re not mentioning what version of Ppro and like Harm mentioned whether its a tryout version, if you are using a tryout version or a older version of Ppro try Premiere Elements

The control surfaces are made for use by different kinds of software, the data/presets that comes with it or you can download presets and programing aids, I’ve used it with Cubase, and its supposed to work with Edius 4.5x which was setup by GrassValley for it, but I haven’t had time to play with it.
Best thing to do is download and read the mamuals and guidesAlso put in a request to Adobe to program use for one of the available control surfaces, it should be made available for Audition, Premiere, etc

If you want to go directly into the computer you can get a USB mike as quoted and annotate directly into Ppro audio tracks, for info on Ppro’s voiceover capability look in the help index under “V” -> voiceover, Ppro has about 20 some effects including a multiband compressor and parametric equalizer for audio touchup.
Samson has three usb mikes, two condenser, C01U/C01UCW $89, 19mm diaphram 40hz-16khz, some computer control via usb for volume and low freq rolloff, the other is a Dynamic C1UCW $59 50hz-16khz, the mics are Hypercardioid to minimize extraneous noise.
Another usb condenser is called the “Blue Snowball” $99,popular with podcasters and some small groups have been using a couple of them with laptops sans a mixer to minimize equipment overhead. There also are applets for some control of the volume and rolloff -
When you connect the monitor card to the computer with cam connected to the other FW connection does it show up in My Computer under the Cam/Scanner listing?
