I have never heard of the trusty brand, Likes been mentioned you should describe your setup and signal flow in detail, like what ports you are using, where you are trying to control your levels, are you using a USB mixer? firewire mixer? or just a analog mixer and your sound card? -
Wouldn’t the best people to ask that question be logitech?

There is a program called “G-spot” its a codec information tool you can search for and download to identify your videos, when you have the info post it and someone will be able to help, I think the latest version is v2.7 or higher.

What are the pixel sizes of the images you are trying to scan, dpi is usually a printing density setting, there are video presets you can apply to your scans, ntsc is usually 720×480 pixels, using presets also takes care of pixel aspect problems, if you are going to pan and zoom your images in premiere you will need to use larger images scaled appropriately, a book that will help with intergrating Photoshop and other Adobe applications into Premiere is “Adobe Premiere Pro 2 Bible” its been out long enough to have reasonably priced issues on the used market.

I just helped someone customize a laptop for Production Studio, it was a HP DV9500, T7700 2.4ghz, 2gig memory, 160gig sata, Geforce 8400m, 1680×1050 17″, 8x lightscribe DVD burner, Hi-Cap Bat, $1700, there is space for another on board sata drive, the ad-on carrier is available from HP.

A usb powered drive will lunch on your lattop’s batteries, a large 3.5″ drive would be a power vacuum, there are small usb enclosures for 2.5″ drives which would be less power hungery, problem is the larger 2.5″ drives can be a tad expensive, if there is a power drop on your mode of transportation the problem would be moot, I’ve got a couple of 2.5″ 160gig drives in usb cases, and I have extra batteries that fit into my Thinkpad’s DVD drive bay, a 160gig drive will hold 10+ hours of DV/HDV, a 250gig 16-17 gigs, having edited on 4200rpm drives sucessfully I find 5400rpm drives a bit more economical than 7200rpm drives, and 160gig drives more economical per byte with enclosure than 250s
