    unable to import mov…missing codec

    I am new to premier pro, but have a little experience with Final Cut Express. I am using the trial version to see if I should move to premier.

    I am having trouble importing .mov files into premier. It is saying “Codec missing or unavailable”.

    I am on Vista, but imported the clips from my camera through imovie on a mac.

    How can I know which codec I need and how do I get that?

    And, if anyone had thoughts about premier vs. final cut, I would love to hear those.

    Load a late version of Quicktime like 6.5 or 7.X
