Support of more then 4 GB might have been done using some paging mechanism. While usefull for videoeffects or painting it is not an option for rendering or high poly scenes in the editor. Paging would not require a true 64 bit application.

> Apple’s Motion 2 is 64 bit. I wonder how they did it.
I can’t find any hint on this on the Apple website or in the Motion 2 technical specs. One should think they would advertise the fact of having the first 64 bit video fx software.

Hi,
>Since the GUI of Cinema 4D doesn’t need to be 64 bit and since most of the processing is done by modules (and plugins), there isn’t any technical reason that Cinema 4D on the Mac can’t be made 64 bit.Sorry, this is plain wrong. The modules need the complete API that comes with CINEMA so in the end you need to make the complete program available once for 32 bit GUI and once for 64 bit nonGUI. Maxon as well as all plugin programmers would need to create modules/plugins for both of these platforms, thereby doubeling the effort of code mainatinance, debugging and installation.
You are right in that Maxon does not want to redesign CINEMA for an incomplete 32/64 OS that most likely will be made completely 64 bit within a short time.Cheers

Hi,
3D labs cards are supported since R9. Older versions won’t work due to some technical specialties of the Wildcat cards (non multithreading OGL).

Hi,
each clients uses temporary files to store information, especialy textures etc. If you start more then one client this information will be either garbled or locked so only one can work. You will need to create copies of the installation and start each client from a seperate installation.

In R9 you will find a handy tool named ASCII Importer. You can use it to load animation data from CSV/ASCII files.

With the Ctrl key pressed just drag and drop it in the timeline from one object onto another.

1. Fizz is better with rigid particle/particle collisions, for anything else TP rules
2. With R9 CINEMA got a compeltely new modelling axis, but sometimes the center axis plugin still has advantages.
3. I’m not to plugin savy, but i think there is something out there that does the trick. I use the FFD trick myself.
4. You can use your own objects/secenes as material preview. For more detailed preview renderings try Paul Everetts Sniper Pro pluginHope this helps

Hi,
the plugin for AE can be found in the Exchange Plugins folder in your CINEMA directory.
Just install it in AE and you can load the aec files.
