I know this has probably been asked a million times. I switched from Maya to C4D last week. I searched the archives and didn’t find anything conclusive:

How do I get the .aec to succesfully import into AE? I read in one post that there needs to be a plug-in for AE. Where do I get this? It didn’t auto install and I didn’t notice it on my disks.

    I am using C4D 9.1 to AE 6.5.

AE acts like it doesn’t know what an .aec is when I try to import it in.

    Hi,
the plugin for AE can be found in the Exchange Plugins folder in your CINEMA directory.
Just install it in AE and you can load the aec files.
    Cheers

Found it. Thank you so much Bjorn. Good to see there are Maya tools as well.
