I want to set up a mac render farm as suggested on page 50 of the NET Render manual, have the clients start the C4DN client program off a central fileserver. The first client to start this way works fine, but any subsequent clients cannot run the client app. It seems that the first machine to use it is ‘locking’ the app (not sure if thats the right word…), and other machines can’t use the program.

I’ve tested it by changing the order that the machines start the client app, but the first one always works, and subsequent ones are unable to open the program.
    Thanks for any suggestions.

    Hi,
each clients uses temporary files to store information, especialy textures etc. If you start more then one client this information will be either garbled or locked so only one can work. You will need to create copies of the installation and start each client from a seperate installation.
    Cheers
    Bj
