How’s the drive formatted? If its not OSX, you might run into the 2GB limit….

Don’t sweat the quality slider – 10-bit uncompressed has a fixed quality setting – the slider doesn’t do anything.
Be sure that you’re rendering in 10-bit.

My guess is that your footage is interlaced. You should deinterlace your web outputs.

Did you export as straight 30 fps, or 29.976? FCP prefers the latter.

You _may_ be able to drop markers using the Voice Over tool. (I’m not in front of my machine right now.)
Try this – Create a new sequence, fill it with enough slug to cover the lenght of your vo session, and open the voice over tool from the tools menu.
Hit ‘m’ while recording to drop a mark.

Try a mixdown render (ctrl-apple-r).
Try quitting FCP, deleting your Audio Renders for the project, and relaunching.

FW 400 is fast enough for DV. You shouldn’t store any video on your system drive.

Perhaps I was unclear.
In your Browser, click on the heading labeled “Duration” to sort all of the contents in the Browser by that field.
Since the Bins have no duration, they jump to the top of the list, in alphabetical order.
I agree that the best practice is to organize your project from the get-go. Sadly I inherit a lot of projects that are a mess. This technique helps.

Sort your bins by frame size, compressor, any property that sequences have and bins don’t.
Poof – bins are all together.
