not totally tested but cutting a compound clip with blade increases project size

try pixelmator for photoshop style work
try wordpress for websites its very good
try some other web packages like sugarcrm if you are running a business
just what I have seen to have useful interface that goes far enough in many cases

the other thing to do is right click the camera archive and open package contents, it has the original folder structure
good if you ever needed to get this tapeless media into another editing program

thanks andreas
had a quick go and had success moving subtitles out of FCPX and then across to subcaps effect in avid MC6
I then had a go of automatic duck pro export FCP for getting an OMF or AAF across to another system (the one for getting omfs out of FCPX)
suprisingly it did a good job of making the AAF that avid could read and then I just relinked via AMA to the events folder media
if you could make a way to get the FCPX titles to read out and across to the standard avid titler this may be nice for creating lower 3rds etc, also I am aware that marquee has the autotitler which may be an easier way to get the titles created, of course this would have issues with timecodes but could be useful anyway
thanks

export the clip out as source codec
put into fcp7 timeline
watch out to external video monitor
I did first week it came out
it looked a mile better than FCP7 renders
only place I saw issues on renders was the upscaling which is to be expected
the graphics looked very nice and very little aliasing

bet the technician setting their media creation settings for them every morning is wondering why they still cant learn how to use an edit system whichever it may be.
also I thought ITV has gone apple only, threw out their PCs, and avid mc6 is awaiting a fix to its buggy initial release on a mac. I wish them the best with their error messages and graphics cards which not working well with avid.
suppose throwing out PCs makes sense, google did the same, no viruses and end background processes.

broadcast signal for PAL is normally upper field
DV and DVCpro are lower field
I would say leave as upper field
unless you are seeing field reversal, check by making DVD or something like that, or step through field by field in FCPX and check it isnt reversing from field to field, option right arrowif you are getting field reversal I suggest changing the project settings to match the source content of DVCpro and then use compressor to change field order
if you need to change the project settings in FCPX (and so change the field order) press command J and then click the little spanner on the left in info panel

you need a report for the areas of problems with timecode
then
if its- a red flash reduce red
- a luminance flash take down the contrast in the image with a colour corrector
- pattern effect just try reducing contrast or apply motion blur in the motion tab
- if you can do then just make the pictures look flat
whatever you do, just remember to have some way to dissolve in and out of the section
if you have timecodes then you should be able to resubmit those small sections until its all correct and not pay for the larger file/tapes
also why may I ask are you playing in through a legaliser, this is a final step when outputting to tape, if its file based consider using the legaliser in apple color its much more nice looking clippping
