I know the Lion and above will suport quite a lot of PC graphics cards but you dont get the boot screen so if it is a 2nd card that should be OK, if not probably not a good idea.

May 17, 2013 at 10:37 pm in reply to: Cant get picture dark enough on Intensity Pro / Dell Ultrasharp 2400Thanks, that is the conclusion I came to. Problem is I dont have the room for a 42″ plasma;(. For now I am making do with another dell Ultrasharp (via GPU ) to get me going which is good for web.
I am getting the feeling there is something wrong with with my 2410, even with brattiness down to 0 is is still way to bright. Would this be fixed by calibrating it, or would spending money on a wide guant calibrater be wasted?

Good question. I thought it was something I read at https://www.tftcentral.co.uk/reviews/dell_u2410.htm but I just looked at it again and I was way of mark. It says the presets are not that good but calibrating it gave good results. It may of been that I did not have a wide gamut calibrator so maybe in that respect presets are better (for me).
The bottom line is I need get a X-Rite i1 Display Pro and ditch the Intensity Pro. I have a extra PCIx4 slot in my box that I could put a basic graphics card in to run one of the monitors (I have 3, 1 for resolve, 1 for scopes and one for video).
But if I put 2 graphics card in wont Resolve Lite refuse to work, or will it just only use 1 GPU for doing its number crunching (hopefully it will use the best one for this).
The last question is can I get Resolve to use a GPU to to view full screen video (this is why I had the intensity pro as I thought Resolve needed Blackmagic hardware for full screen preview).

Tried lots of ky+H and no luck. What is the name for the toggle. It may not be called a mask, its the grey bit that shows what is selected in the qualifier/power window.

OK, yes, I did say XML in Subject and EDL later, sorry.
I think it is a XML but I dont care as long as FCP 7 can import it.
So maybe my question should be how do I bring a project that has been graded back into FCP 7. I have rendered all the files from Resolve (with a 100 frame handels). I think I now need to generate a EDL or XML file and import it into FCP 7, but not sure exactly how to do this/if it is EDL/ or XML I need.
