Yes, thanks. In terms of what type of editing I am doing I am planing on making my living as a video editor. I am currently involved in rebutting a feature documentary to TV size. I don’t have much money at the moment and cant afford for my editing system t get in the way of what I am doing so I am going the PC route. I adeda title and it had to render. I have already priced some components (I already have a very nice case and PSU) and it is going to cost me 1/4 the price it would for an entry level mac pro.
At the end of the days computers are just tools, Mac, PC, makes little difference to me. I spend most of the time in application software, mot the OS, and Premiere on PC and Mac is almost the same.

I have, so I guess so. It maybe because the CPUs have been upgraded to to 3GHz Xeon and someone may of flashed the bios. I have even managed to install a 64Bit version of Windows 7 on it (although I had to remaster the Win7 install disk to get mac to boot it).

I have a 5770 in my Mac Pro (its actually the PC version). About my Mac the card shows up as a ‘ATI Radeon HD 5000’ and I have put this at the end of opencl_supported_cards.txt. I have also tried ‘ATI Radeon HD 5770’, ‘ATI Radeon HD 5000M’ and ‘ATI Radeon HD 5770M’. I stoped and restater Premier Pro but still cant get MPE working. Any ideas?

ProRes 422>How long is the timeline?
20 mins. Its a 2008 Mac Pro. The project has a lot of subtitles (with drop shadow) but is pretty much straight cuts.
Last night it started almost behaving itself but cant quite play the whole project.
