    Hi,

    Thanks for your reply.

Does anyone know of any utility which will combine the AVI video & WAV audio files into 1 AVI file?

    Cheers

October 24, 2006 at 5:35 am in reply to: Premiere Pro: SD media in a HD timeline

    Hi,

Thanks for Jeron & AJA for the replies.
The media is QuickTime Uncompressed 10-Bit.
The media is already digitized onto disk, using a Xena LH.

What they like to achieve is to put existing SD media into a HD timeline, without re-capturing the SD media.
They are working in SD now & this is something they wish to do in future.
I spoken to them about the Xena 2K & its up-conversion/cross-conversion features.
They like that feature, but the main concern is to mix SD & HD media on a HD timeline.
They understand rendering will take time & compromise visual quality.

But we were puzzled with the quality & motion of the rendered media.
As they told me, another system is able to render them, without any motion artifacts.

The Instant HD plugin looks good, but for interlaced source, the media needs to be de-interlaced 1st.

  • Hi Francois,

If you refer to the Xsan forum, there’s a thread discussing about the FCP project file workflow.
Generally, FCP does not like multiply users working on the same project file.

The original project file is on the SAN, the user will open it & save a copy to a local disk.
The user will then work on the local copy.
At the end of the day, the user will copy his version back into the SAN.

September 25, 2006 at 4:46 pm in reply to: this is the new cheap Sony SR HD-VTR

    Hi All,

I look through the specs & it indicated RS-422A protocol.
I take it as this VTR cannot handle Insert editing mode.
    Am I right about this?

    Cheers,

    Hi All,

    Thanks for all the replies.
This Kona LH has a PAL black burst reference input.
I’m going to trash the Kona pref files to see if its make a difference, as adviced by Kona Support.

    Cheers,
    Ben

    Hi All,

I corresponded with AJA Support on this issue & here’s their reply:

“In regards to the driver install: Before you install any Kona driver, go to:/library/receipts and delete all the AJA Kona pkg files.”

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks lotsa!
It will be nice if AJA can publish the supported configuration of Mac OS X, QuickTime, FCP, for each version of AJA drivers.
