Sometimes it helps to import the corrupted file into a new empty project.
Apart from that, there’s an Increment and Save function in AE 6.5. It seems like a good time to start using it.

If it’s NTSC throughout the production, and there’s no plan to up-res to some flavour of HD, chances are that the project is finished in NTSC anamorphic widescreen, and those would be the settings to use.
But it’s really a matter of getting more information.

Well, true chrome reflections are a bit more complicated, but what you seem to be referring to is often called a ‘glint’ effect.
It can be achieved in many different ways, for instance by animating a white feathered solid over the logo, using an add or screen transfer mode with reduced transparancy.
But you could indeed also duplicate the source (logo), and apply an animated feathered mask to the top layer, and set it’s transfer mode to add or screen. Maybe also blur the top layer a little, and play with the brightness levels of the top layer.
To cheese it up a little, you could even add a really subtle lensflare onto the glimmer effect. But make it really subtle so nobody actually sees the flare.

I think it comes with C4D, and you export to a rendered .psd sequence with an AE project from C4D.
For details you might want to drop into the C4D forum here.

If you’re talking about a solid’s colors or text colors, try adding the Hue/Saturation filter and keyframing it’s settings over time. No need to add layers.

If you buy the upgrade from Adobe you’ll get a box with the manuals etc. I’m not sure about the download-purchase, but the regular purchase comes with the goodies and documentation.
Usually if you purchase software and the next day a new version is released, you’ll qualify for a free update. So if you have a need for 6.5 I’d just go ahead right now.

AE’s hyperthreading isn’t as efficient as we’d like to see it. So a single CPU is usually the most cost-efficient. You could also go for a dual board, but add a single CPU, and add the second one later on.
As for videocards, I’m getting an nVidia 6800GT board – which gives a lot of bang for the buck. The 6800Ultra is so big it renders the first PCI slot useless.
AGP 8x works well for now, but the future is in PCI-Express for graphics adapters.

Yes I installed the drives in one single PC enclosure with the rest of the machine (CoolerMaster Stacker) and they work like a charm. I’ve been very busy with animation and compositing, so I haven’t had much time with Premiere unfortunately. I’m about to replace the Matrox Parhelia card because it seems to bug the Decklink card.
I’ll order an nVidia card today, and get back to the forum about my experiences.
