Are you sure? “Uhm… yes. The only DVI connector on the new Multibridges is for output of the video image.
You’ll still need a graphics adapter to connect you monitors for viewing the desktop etc.
As far as on-board graphics adapters go… I personally wouldn’t go there. I don’t know what software you plan on using for editing, but more and more applications are using OpenGL for accellerating FX and transitions. On-board GPU’s tend to be mediocre performers.
Also, if you ever want to swap the the graphics adapter because of driver issues or other reasons, you’re best off with a PCI-express or AGP 8x card. Just stay away from the Matrox Parhelia for now – it seems to cause problems in conjunction with the Decklink cards.

As an alternative you could look into M-Audio solutions. M-Audio have always created very reliable equipment, and have a bunch of mobile options out there.

Personally I prefer a Firewire interface over USB. I’ve seen too many latency issues with USB…

I’ve had some of the same issues with the Parhelia board next to the Decklink HD Pro. I’m in the process of replacing it with an nVidia 6800 board.

What plug-in? What version of AE? What OS? What graphics board?
Long-distance troubleshooting someone else’s system is hard enough as it is. Try to give us something to work with. Or fill in the system details in your profile.
But the OpenGL error is probably graphics driver related. Try turning off OpenGL preview and see what happens.

On a dark background you might not see much of a difference, but if you have an explosion or something similar you need to composite onto a bright background there’s a huge difference between unmultiplying and screening.
Without going into the math here: generally using Unmult gives the colors more ‘body’ and a less transparent look.

Most of the advanced keyers out there are based on color difference. This means that it needs a different value in the keying color than in the other colors. So when green is your choice, you want to get an image that has a lot of green and very little red and blue in it. Ideally 255, 0, 0 – if you compare it to 8-bit RGB.
