I’ve also had some problems in the AE timeline while ram previewing. It’s different than what you’re seeing. When the time indicator runs across the timeline [as it’s playing,] it leaves behind it a trail of time indicators, just it’s grey.

My guess: it’s a bug in AE 7’s timeline. I don’t know what else to think. (BTW, I’m running it on G4 Mac.)

When stabalizing, After Effects can’t “create” the missing pixels. Instead, it moves the whole clip around, so that the point you stabalized stays in one place. One way to fix this is to scale the clip just a little bigger so it fills the frame. Another way is to repeat the edge pixels. I saw this in a tutorial by Andrew Cramer. In version 6.5, the plug is under the ‘stylize’ menu, it’s called ‘motion tile.’ By setting the output width and output height to the amount of pixels you’re missing on the edge, and checking the ‘mirror edges’ checkbox, it’s going to repeat the outermost pixels of the image. Beware though, it doesn’t work in all instances.

    Hope that helped,

I think I got it. I now noticed a preset I didn’t notice before. NTSC DV Widescreen Square Pixels. Thanks Anyway.

  • I following site I found, has on the right side a list of links to many big studios. What I do, is go through the sites’ portfolio, and so far i’ve found hundreds of great commercials for inspiration.

  • If you want the shaddow only, there’s an option for that. I think it’s a checkbox in the layers properties menu that says “shadow only.” I didn’t check now, so I hope I remember correctly.

January 1, 2006 at 12:15 am in reply to: Audio Stutters after Render?

Guys, there’s no need to change audio format, I had this problem a while ago. Go to preferences > output > audio duration block, and change it, so it’s always longer than the piece you are rendering.

    Hope this works,
    -A.N.
