    Hi there,

    Looks very cool!

Man, how do you get so much control over the camera in AE, I just can’t get a grip on it!?

Very nice work. Did you roto the motion with a plug or did you just use AE masks?

Totally outstanding! Most interesting teaser I have seen in at least 10 years.

Great work, and thanks for showing us on the other half of the globe (the one that’s at the bottom of your world maps :O)!

Thanks for the compliments 🙂 All of the rotoscoping was done in AE using the Rotobezier function. I precomposed the footage with the Posterize Time effect set to 5 frames per second which mean’t I only had to roto every 5th frame. Although the strobing effect was a design decision it saved me time with the roto work but it still took a while preparing so many clips. The camera was actually pretty easy to control, I parented the camera to a 3D null then set up expression effects linked to the null’s X and Z position, that way I could use sliders to track the camera left and right and dolly it in and out. But I agree that getting the camera to do what you want takes a little practice 😉

    best,

    JD
