[Dan Brockett] ” I never erase the cards until I have the material on two drives so if I figure 16 minutes to download a 16GB and about another 10 minutes to clone that card drive to drive, that is too long. “
You should be using ShotPut Pro from Imagine Products. It allows for simultaneous data transfers to up to 3 drives. Almost no time penalty. I use it regularly and highly recommend it for P2 workflow.

I have used both Pro35 with Zeiss PL primes and the Zeiss Digi Primes on my HPX500.
If your goal is the have shallow dof, the Pro35 is the way to go.
As Emre said, the Digi Primes are great lenses, but will not give you shallow dof.
The Pro35 will cost you about 2 stops of light, where the Digi Primes will not.

I would try to copy the data back to a p2 card and see if you can read the media in the camera.
If not, you know that the data is corrupt like Noah stated.

December 18, 2009 at 4:33 am in reply to: 5D Mark ii — HDMI > AJA IoHD > Final Cut Pro[August Miller] “1.) Am I correct in assuming that the Mark II delivers uncompressed video out through HDMI? “
That is not really true. The live video output is not 1920×1080 video. You can get a picture out, but it is at best 1320 x 700. Not a video friendly hd output.
If you are talking about playback, then yes 1080i video plays out.

Keep in mind that the P2 Formatter only works on Firewire.
I doubt that it is a firmware issue, otherwise the card would not mount on the desktop. I suspect that you are using USB perhaps to connect?

That is not related to this driver release. You need a driver from Duel as well.
My pcd20 is working great under SL now.

Roxio Toast on the Mac will do it.
It will also allow you to span data over multiple disks.

While I have not used the Canon primes, I have shot extensively with both Zeiss Digiprimes and the Pro35 with Zeiss Super Speeds on my HPX500.
The idea of skipping the whole Pro35 rig and not loosing 2 stops of light was attractive enough for me to try it (mostly for interviews).
In the end, I prefer the Pro35. Having the 35mm target really gets the shallow focus that i desire.
HTH.

August 20, 2009 at 10:41 am in reply to: Wireless logging/controlling cameras as they recordI saw a technology preview of a wifi enabled camera with live metadata at NAB.
It used a usb wifi adapter, but was not a firmware update for existing cameras. Needs to be built into new cameras.
No word on time frame.
