MXF P2 nightmare.
Interesting situation here.
A full day’s worth of P2 cards were saved to a hard drive. That hard drive decided to not open, so I had a friend who works in data recovery salvage the data to a second drive.
Everything appeared to copy over fine. The files are all there and their size is correct. Here’s where the issues start.
When attempting to open the P2 cards in log and transfer or RayLight or P2 Log Pro, it begins to load the structure (it cycles through the clip names), but then says the MXF files are corrupt and won’t do anything else.
Any ideas here?

Yup- this is an issue with some forms of data recovery. They are typically optimized for text and graphics reconstruction with less awareness of video data structure. In other words, the files may well be there and at the right sizes, but the underlying data structure has been scrambled. I’d check to see if they can run the data recovery again with a more careful reconstruction.

I would try to copy the data back to a p2 card and see if you can read the media in the camera.
If not, you know that the data is corrupt like Noah stated.
