[Brent Pierce] “I’ve downloaded JVC’s plug-in to make FCP read MP4’s, but that doesn’t work because the files are not on an XDCAM host (the camera via usb, the card that it was recorded on, etc.) all the files are on an external HDD via usb.
I’ve even tried Sony’s XDCAM Transfer software that came with the EX cameras, but the same problem occurs.”When you work with tapeless media of any kind, you must archive the original media in it’s original directory structure for exactly this reason. To not do so is the equivalent of burning your master tapes or your original camera negative.
FCP needs these file structures to make sense of the media for Log & Transfer. other programs need it for the same reason. If you don’t save these directories for future use you are playing with fire.
Take Raphael’s advice and try the Calibrated software.

How are you creating the title roll? I’m wondering if you are perhaps using a demo version of a plugin and this is a watermark.

January 25, 2010 at 4:34 am in reply to: IDVD content duration error message. PLEASE HELP![Michael Golsby] “It keeps saying my project exceeds the maximum content duration”
If you’ve hit the time limit, then dropping your bit rate wont’ help. you either need to remove some content, or you need to use a different tool to author your disk. Try using DVD Studio Pro, there’s no limit on duration.

[Luna Vetusta] “Since we don´t have a AJA card we are going to export to a disk and then give that disk to a company which will export that file to the digital betacam tape. “
You will need to ask this question of the company doing the layoff. Only they know what formats they can receive and output to tape.

In the future, you may want to search this forum first (this exact question is answered at least every month), or maybe peek into your FCP manual for these kinds of tidbits.

January 23, 2010 at 5:29 am in reply to: Export image sequence (TIFF) with 2.2 GammaYou might be able to do this with Compressor. It can output a tiff sequence at whatever resolution you prefer, and there is a gamma filter. You should run a test and take a look in the PDF Compressor manual.
