Some years back, Marco Solorio posted a series of tests at https://www.onerivermedia.com/codecs/
The tests haven’t been updated for 5 or 6 years, but if you read about his methodology, you can recreate the tests yourself for Prores and other new codecs.

The HVX shoots DVCPro HD. It is 4:2:2. Many people confuse this with HDV, it’s not.

What’s the source of the audio? Is it 48k, 16 or 24 bits?

This is why there will always be online editors. People like me who look at this stuff and say, “You need to do this before you do anything else or your screwed. Your tape will be rejected, or your film out will look like crap and your sound will never be in sync. And by the way, it’s an hourly rate for this.”
Then the client comes back with how it’s a very important film, and they have no money. and I say that their attitude is very puzzling. If it’s that important, it should be important enough to to correctly, and they should be pretty happy to pay for the experience and expertise to do it.
Sometimes the film gets abandoned. That’s how important it is.

Look through your timeline for black frames. They would most often appear in front of a cut. If you find them, slip the clip so that the black frames go away. You may need to re-render some shots from Color with handles to get rid of them.

From 23.976 fps it’s very easy to go to any other frame rate. Plus, DVD & Blu-Ray will play it natively if the disks are set up properly.
To go to NTSC you add pulldown to 29.97. To go to film you go frame-for-frame to 24. To go to PAL you speed up frame-for-frame to 25.

You may want to try adding an edge detection filter and cranking that way up. Look for “Edges” and “Edge Work”.

DVCPro HD clocks in at 100 megabits per second or 12.5 megaBytes per second. If you can shoot 24PN, then the bandwidth is close to that of miniDV, since you’re recording 60% fewer frames than in 60P. AVC Intra is either at 50 or 100 megabits per second.

[Alex Elkins] “NB. RULE 1 for RED post production is do not, under ANY circumstances, rename the files differently to the originals. If someone puts a gun to your head and tells you to do it, take the bullet. Before anyone converts anything for you make sure they know this! The only difference should be the extension of the file, from .R3D to .mov
If you wish the file names made more sense, add an annotation in one of the ‘Comment’ columns in FCP. Just don’t change the name! “Well said, Alex! And this is a general rule for any tapeless system, not just Red. You will screw yourself up just as badly with XDCam, P2 or any tapeless by renaming your clips in FCP, or , heaven forbid, renaming your file names on your drives.

Title Exchange Pro or Traffic might do what you want.
Or you could try to hack it yourself using xml export & import. You would open up the xml in TextEdit and use find/replace to change the attributes that you want. Do a search here for “xml” and you’ll probably find more detail.
