Further to what Tom said, check your timeline settings. It sounds like you’ve got the video processing set to RGB when you should be set to YUV.

As someone who’s self employed, I certainly understand you’re bosses point of view- lord knows I’m pretty conscious about what things cost me. Part of that equation should be what does it cost to not have it. If having certain tools makes you more productive because they overlap, then it might be worth owning both.
For the most of work I do, Motion has replaced AE. But I’m thinking of upgrading from my standard edition of 6.5 to the new AE pro if I can afford (justify?) the $500 because of what Motion doesn’t do, or what AE does better. Of course, your (employer’s) milage may vary, and whoever holds the purse strings is ultimately the one calling the shots. (I’m just lucky that most of the time it’s me!)
If it’s important enough, I’d like to think that you can convince your bosses that it’s worth the extra cost.

Have you checked the Apple website lately? It looks like the Studio package already is the only way to buy any of the studio apps. Like you, I’m already a studio owner, & I think it’s a great value.

That would depend on how you create your different versions, and on how you logged & captured the media.
If you logged & captured each shot separately, then you could CC each shot first, then cut the CC’d media into each sequence.
If you 1st created one sequence, then made copies of it to re-cut the copies into different versions, you’d CC the original sequence before you made any other versions. You’d be re-cutting the CC’d copies.
OTOH, if you already have, lets say 17 different timelines, then there’s no way for you to magically copy the CC from one to another.

I’m sorry, but I’ve just never really understood the scrolling timeline thing. Maybe I just don’t need to watch the playhead scroll down the timeline… because I’m watching the video on the monitor?

Finding fonts is not very hard. Start with linotype.com or typeindex.org. Most fonts retail for $20-$40 individually.

You can do this now. Either use the Find command in the browser window & select “Used Media” or “Unused Media” in the pulldown menu, or you can select all clips in the timeline & change their label color.

The same thing that’s wrong with obeying fire codes, building codes, worker safety codes when building a sky scraper- it takes longer & costs more to do it right than it does to cut corners. Until, that is, your job site is shut down by an accident.
