A little known or understood fact: audio has no frames.
It doesn’t matter what frame rate you shot or what TC rate is connected to the audio, the audio should synch properly if the picture is played back at the same frame rate that it was shot. If you shot 24 FPS and are playing back at 23.98, then you need to slow your audio down a teeny bit (0.01%?), otherwise, there should be no drift. Unless your audio recorder doesn’t record at a constant speed, which is rather a different issue.

What version of QT & Mac OS are you running? For FCP 4.5 & Compressor 1.x you should be running QT 6.x & Mac OS 10.3.x.

Set your ganging to “Open” and the shot will open in the viewer when the play head is over it in your timeline.

From page 18 of the manual for Cinema Tools v 3.1.2: “Cinema Tools supports 4-perf 35mm, 3-perf 35mm, and 16mm-20 film formats.”
Perhaps you’re not using a current version of CT?

A rule of thumb: if you keep having the same error in the same place, you’ve got a problem in that place. Check all of your audio, graphics & video at around the 16 minute mark. Odds are that something is corrupt or needs to be re-rendered there.

2 suggestions:
1- use a ‘replace’ edit, it’s the F-11 key on your keyboard. It will replace the clip under the playhead in the targeted track with the clip in the viewer, lining both up with whatever frame the 2 playheads are on.

I’m with Shane. I just wrapped production on a feature using P2, & it worked perfectly. We chose to back up the cards to 2 sets of DVD+DL at around $1.80 per disk (we’re VEEERY into redundancy). I was able to edit & create scratch effects in HD on set using a G4 Powerbook & FW800 drives.
