AFAIK MAXON only offered a printed manual for v9 (for additional costs). CINEMa 4D 10 is only available with the online help which basically offers the complete documentation as searchable HTML pages.

Hi,
by switching modes with CTRL hold down, the active selection is converted to the new mode.
If for example you have only 3 out of 4 points of a polygon selected, switching from points to polygon mode will not select that polygon. Maybe that is what happend in your case.Kind regards,

You can try to use the fbx format to exchange data between C4D versions, but there will be limitations (such as Materials and shaders).

Maybe just the images used in the materials cannot be found any more because of different file locations?
Copy all texture images to one tex folder and place both scene files on the same hierarchy as the tex folder before merging the scenes.
Or you can just open the demaged materials and modify the image file paths there so that C4D can find the images again.Kind regards,

I just wanted to add that the new intel macs can run windows and MacOS side by side, so the OS no longer holds you back from buying any software or plugin you like. And regarding OpenGL, multithreaded OpenGL is on it’s way for Mac computers, bringing up to twice the OpenGL speed (that’s what they say). Blizzard is already using this for their new World of Warcraft add-on. Beside this, up to date Macs offer competitive OpenGL scores:

So you should try out the demo versions by yourself and base your purchase on the feature set, workflow and stability each software offers.Kind regards,
