Thanks. Any help on the 2nd part –

Also, and even more importantly, I’m having trouble monitoring. What do my settings need to be in Blackmagic System preferences to view on the monitor?

… and, in decklink settings, does hdtv up/down converter pull down menu options have any effect when I’m monitoring?

    thank you, Kristian

  • I think i have a similiar issue. A warbling distortion sound that comes and goes. I stop the playback and then it goes away, but comes back intermittently… Is this what you’re talking about or is yours constant.

And by the way, I don’t know how to solve this.

Yeah, I’ve gotten it to work. It is a ridiculous, though, and I’m a little annoyed that they haven’t bothered to get with Apple and fix it. Of course, I’m finding out if you don’t have a deck attached, there’s a distinct possibility that the VO tool will not work at all. Anyway, this is what I got from blackmagic. Good luck with it.

In order to get VO Tool in Final Cut Pro HD to work, these are the steps to follow (I think No. 3 is what you might have missed out):

    1) Video Input in Blackmagic DeckLink preferences is set to match the audio input type. For example, if you’re recording via the XLR connectors of your card, then then ‘Inputs’ under ‘DeckLink Video Connections’ must set to analog. It doesn’t matter if it’s component or composite analog video.

    2) In the View menu of Final Cut Pro HD, set External Video to

  • Thanks for all the replies. So I’m covered either way. I like that.

” It is best to run this thru a Mixer, then to the card. ”

Yes, that’s how I’m doing it.

Apparently, it is a problem exclusive to the Blackmagic Multibridge.
