Yeah… its a solid layer that I can not edit. So the noise was my first idea but don’t think it would be as ideal as I wanted it to be. I made a shape layer and repeated that… not ideal… Also used particular in a grid array but couldn’t tweak the random opacity settings into an ideal way…. So for now they are just getting a solid plus background instead of me trying to make so many random layers for something that wont be on screen too long. Thanks for helping with the ideas. Just limited with how they sent it to me.

  • To make this possibly even quicker you should just render out the Motion Background video out of after effects with the linear wipe and feather with an alpha channel. That way you can just add all the text in premiere and not have to keep jumping back and forth between AE and Premiere.

  • Dave is right but I will at least give you a tool to try to figure it out. Look up Linear Wipe and feather. Those two things can get you there but there are more steps in the process.

A random guess…. try putting a black solid at the bottom of your stack to give it an actual black background.

Ridley…. that is perfect. I fudged with the parameters a bit and its exactly what I was looking for. Added an opacity parameter and it works great.

Dave. You were spot on. Its expressions….. man those guys are smart who write those things.

To wiggle the text put Turbulent Displace on the text. A start point for settings try Amount 35… Size 3…. and put an expression for evolution (alt+click on the stopwatch for evolution) type time*2000. See if that gets you close to the desired effect.

Instead of cutting the layer up multiple times you can also just set HOLD KEYFRAMES for opacity and position… and maybe fast blur if you want it to not be so clear. That way it is easy to change the word.
