I havent used the T2i, I am sure it uses the same file structure. DCIM folder>.mov’s/.thm’s

If so, should be good to go.

Edit on the Portable, unless you have more than 1 local drive installed.
Running the OS+ProApps+Media review/editing in FCP. Edit on a drive other than the boot/OS drive.

  • One other issue could be if your audio was captured at 12 bit vs 16 bit, then the audio can drift in and out of sync.

In this case you cant just spot check and notice.

What codec, format is the video?

Do you have the RAW clips from a card? Just QT movies stripped from the original source?

Helps to download the Freeware Sony has:

    Hope that helps you.

Jeff is right, make sure you have the Codec installed on your machine.

Are you using the setup Tools>Keyboard Layout>Multi-Camera Editing

This is different set of shortcuts, you can also define you own.

If your doing Multicam its great to have a keyboard with the numberpad on the side. That will also help your situation.

You can also try using iTunes, just go under Pref’s>General>import settings>use aiff

Make sure to switch this back to the default or you will end up with a large itunes Library in size not songs.

After you make the conversions right click on the file in iTunes and reveal in Finder.
Copy and paste that to your asset folder or scratch drive.

When cutting on the fly, you sometimes like the duration of your cut.

So, you just want to show another angle by just switching the angle in instead of making another cut.

Also, you can just play through your sequence and swap angles after you made your initial roughcut.

January 10, 2011 at 7:17 pm in reply to: Settings – output very poor for mp4, mov, etc

Work with the best res possible, so:

Keep all of your clips closest to their native size, round up or down if they are a few pixels off like 1920×1200 turn into 1920×1080. are these timelapses, or Still sequences?
DONT TURN SD CLIPS INTO HD (720×480 into 1280×720)

Just change your codec to ProRes. YOu should be fine.
    enjoy.

don’t change the naming of the files when transcoding, or keep the original file name in the new file name.

Just one less headache to worry about.
