Open the Master clip in the browser window, tweek the parameters like auto scale, rotation, etc.
watch the whole clip. I just hope your clips are about 2-3 mins max.

This is sometimes create some undesirable scaling at specific point of the clip, depending on the amount of shakiness.

Smoothcam filter will create a SmoothCam Data file in the same location as the media file. Make sure to check to see if the SmoothCam file is in the same location as your original media is stored. If you move the media you need to apply again.

I have seen alot of people with the sticky frames and you can detach the the VF and carry it on a lanyard or in your pack.

wav, less compressed, SD cards are cheap anyway. record with less compression. You cant work well with mp3’s in FCP.

Zacuto is pricey, but the Zfinder is nice. 3X is overkill for me. I have the 2.5, and it comes with some extender frames, use them. Letus has one too, Looks like its built stronger(carbon fiber)

If you are using some DSLR Rigs, have the VF is another point of contact to the body for steady video.
Within the next few months most 3rd party vendors are making EVF, like Redrock, Zacuto.
So you may want to hold out for those, but they start around $600-$700

2 Shots, option+Shift drag the clip to the top track.
Apply color or brightness/contrast effect to offset the look of the clip.
then apply mask to the top clip, adjust the shape to reveal the image in background
Apply a time adjustment to the top clip or bottom clip or both.
all will create a different looks.

This is much better in After Effects or Motion, you can do Effects in FCP but you will get better results, faster in a motion graphics app.

Cheap investment will cause you expensive issues.
Just Use that college discount on the Laptop, you will be happy about that later.

This will force you to edit more, if you get a mac mini, yes. It will run, not always smooth.
You still need to get a decent monitor, if you get a decent laptop that will spare you on render time also.
Imac’s have become a lot cheaper and better value, but then again you will be stuck in one place.
Unless you buy the ilugger bag for it.

This is not a cheap sport, if you want to go cheap, get a PC and run Premier Pro.

You can make a template FCP file of just premade FX and Generators save them on flash drive.

Also, create filter packs by combining a few filters to create a look. the place them all in a bin
drag the bin on a clip and there’s your look.

To create an asset out of anything place them in the browser window. save the project.
you can just copy and paste these into any project as you work.

This is better, because incase you have a corrupt Pref’s file, which happens. you don’t lose all of your favorite effects.

After QT conversion, Double check the options>movie setting>size>make sure you have 720×480 and not some crazy size like 468×268.

Transcode to ProRes to make FCP happy, easiest to work with.
Files grow a bit, but makes things easier faster.

You can also work in DV/DVCPRO, although DV is highly compressed.
As Michael said If you have SD footage work in an SD(720×480) timeline.

I would say give it a week, and you will either hear nothing or some outrageous amount of crazy glitches.
I have not seen any issues. I am updated.
