    Thanks Paolo,

I shouldn’t need to worry too much about switching images on the fly. This is for client preview on-set and then our footage goes through a proper key in post.

  • Where are you seeing the difference?

Are you watching your video in the Quicktime player?

Do Premiere and Vimeo not match? This is regardless to any 3rd party media player?

What is your operating system? Is your computer monitor calibrated? Are you using any exernal monitoring like an Aja, Blackmagic, or Matrox card?

Praise be to the person who can actually do this. The issue isn’t the primary pitch, but upturns/downturns change vowel and consonant mouth shape so it also changes the timbre as well. In other words, an upturn is still an upturn, you’ve just changed the overall pitch.

  • Shouldn’t matter. The Premiere Pro version of Plural Eyes also does FCP XML files, but I can tell you that after developing my own tools for Premiere Pro project files that, at it’s most basic sense, it holds the same information just in a more complicated way.

I have a feeling you’re moreso running into issues because of areas where the song sounds similar (chorus or breaks) so you may have to sync in smaller chunks (in verse/chorus pairs) or just do it manually.

Alternately, are you using it on the slow/accurate setting? That might help a little.

(Written with the fact that I have Plural Eyes, just not open in front of me because I switched to a new workstation).

  • Is the playhead also over the same clip? Most up to date version of Looks?

It’s not “bad” in a sense that it’s not an unrealistic shift. You can get a more polished look, or get an audience to accept a more stylized look if you pin the skintones to that 10 o’clock area (it’s actually a pretty narrow band).

The problem with basic tools is you’ll find they’re pretty inflexible when it comes to doing stuff like this.

Grab Colorista Lite/Free and you could try, before your blue matte, to shift the hues of the skintone in anticipation of the blue matte; basically a compensation.

You might also want to use curves or (if Premiere has it) the channel mixer to take blue out of the shadows and decontaminate that a little bit.

From what sites? Both Flash and Silverlight have content management at the player level regardless of the file it is serving? Are you talking about online protection?

I would think it’s a bad RAM stick… as you work your project it takes up memory until it hits the bad memory cell and BAM, blue screen.

Google search for memory testers. You basically have to pull out all your ram and test single sticks at a time. https://www.memtest.org/ boots up before Windows to test RAM.

Also, I had an issue with a new system configuration and in BIOS, I set the RAM voltage to 1.475 (a little lower than what the RAM is rated). However, if your system has been stable up until now then I think the former of the two problems is the cause.

Yes, unless it is a smart object (and even still, I think AE rasterizes these which bakes in all changes) then cropping an image in Photoshop is destructive; cropping effectively throws away all the pixels that were outside the image area.
