In the PC world, you do a simple copy file1 + file2 etc with the /b switch and it will combine them into one file.

There are also simple utilities for this also.

    Not sure on the MAC.

  • On the export panel, make sure you have “Include Source XMP data” selected also.(it is on the small drop down menu)

So, you have put numbers in the name field? That should work.
Try creating a NEW ENcore project then export to test.

Thanks for doing this. I have been on the Adobe forums for years, and you made it very easy to follow.

Just remember you need Vista 64bit(x64)

You should get home premium or business.

Crappy may be a bit strong, but I have to say CS4 is VERY frustrating, to the point where I am back using CS3 until they issue some LONG OVERDUE patches for CS4.

I am not a pro, but I do a lot of DVD’s, Ipod videos, for our church, school, YMCA etc and I am spending way too much time trouble shooting and not editing.

I really like all of the new features of CS4 and I like the new workflow, but this “tool” needs somoe repairs before I can trust it.

I have used CS4 on both XP and Vista x64. Vista x64 is works much better for me. I now have tried both 4gb and 8gb ram. Wow, it really runs better.

[first problem “Long idle time”] – Solution

    Xmp Metadata!
Then you want to export project, what do you do? :
    File/Export/Media…
“Export Settings” window is on your monitor
And now! Go to the little tab after tabs with

    [ ‘filters”format”video”audio”others’ ‘This small tab’ ]

and uncheck “Include Source xmp Metadata”

    That’s all!

[second problem “Long idle time before file encoding in Media Encoder “] – solution
Your video files must be without xmp Metadata.
In my side all files was made by Aftereffects, but aftereffects by default put metadata to all rendered files. Uncheck before render.

[third problem “Long time loading project”] – Solution
the same as solution of second problem.

[plus] After removing xmp Metadata my Flash files drop ~30% of size (sample: 15 MB => 9 MB)

p.s. this is all about cs4 adobes software

I would do B. If your final output is 4:3, then use a 4:3 DV timeline.

create a SD project. Place the clip on the SD time. Use the motion controls to size the project to fit the frame.

Make sure you have chosed “FIT” in the little tab under the program monitor. It might be at 100%.
