GY-HM700U multicam edit in FCP

We just purchased a GY-HM700U camera and love the results we are getting.
My question deals with lengthy, live-event multi-cam productions. After a two hour play or recital, typically I have about six 3.45GB .mov files. Of course, they are instantly available in Final Cut Pro, but in order to make one multi-cam clip from three camera angles, I have been exporting a QT movie consisting of the six clips dragged to the timeline and essentially merged.
This takes forever. Is there another workflow that I am missing?

In the PC world, you do a simple copy file1 + file2 etc with the /b switch and it will combine them into one file.
There are also simple utilities for this also.
Not sure on the MAC.

I use windows and open a command prompt window.
If you want to combine several binary(video) files into one by using wildcards,include the /B switch, as the following example shows:copy /b *.mov combinedfile.mov
There are free utilities that also do this.
