Im guessing that your PSD is CMYK rather than RBG. If you convert it to RGB in photoshop first it should work.

When I have this problem Im usually able to save a copy of the project to
a different drive. Like an external drive if the project is located internally
or vice versa. Not the desktop.
Then I move it back to it’s original location after restarting.-Andy

Brian,
Expose is overriding the default setting for the F9 Key.
If you set expose to a different key or turn it off all together it should work fine.
You can do this in your system preferences.-Andy

Nathan,
It’s possible to link attributes from one composition to another.
The easiest way would be to:
Open both compositions at the same time, so that you can see all of the attributes you want to link on your screen.
Then you can quickwhip the start and end points in the beam effect in your main comp directly to the position property of your nulls in the precomp.
It should look something like this
comp("Comp 1").layer("Null 2").transform.position-Andy

Hey Aaron,
I think flip4mac is about the only game in town. Certainly the cheapest solution
at any rate.-Andy

November 16, 2009 at 10:07 pm in reply to: Exporting after effects layers to different AE projectSanjeev-
You can accomplish this by importing the after effects project with the layers
you want to copy into the after effects project that you want to copy to.
Then just copy and paste from one comp to another. If you don’t want to import the entire project check out the Reduce Project
feature to reduce your first project to just the assets you would like to move.[Sanjeev Kumar] “and how do i ignore a layer in AE CS 4?”
Im not sure if “ignore” is the correct term for this but if you turn off
the eyeball icon on the layer in question, you will no longer see it and
it will not interact with other layers.-Andy

Hi Brian,
In order to create a NTSC Anamorphic (wide-screen) image it
has to be a non-square pixel aspect ratio (1.22)
and quick time player does not deal in non-square pixels. So the vertically elongated 4×3 render should be the correct one.
If you bring it back into after effects it should display correctly
there or in an NLE that can accommodate non square pixels. If you want to display it correctly in quicktime open
the file hit CMD+J select the video track turn off
“preserve aspect ratio” and change the
scaled size to 864×576-Andy

[Andy Joseph] “Now i want only some of the lights to get affected by trapcode lux & not ll the lights”
You can select lights effected by lux under the general section of the plug in
modifying the “use lights that are” and “name starts with” Parameters.
Page 13 of the lux manual explains it well
video.thecastsite.com/…/Trapcode/Lux…/TrapcodeLuxManual.pdf[Andy Joseph] “Lux lights are also visible even if a solid layer or any comp is placed between light & camera.”
Yes this is a limitation of lux. It has no built in obscuration (ability to “hide” itself behind other layers)
It can be a useful plugin if composited carefully. But if you need more control you
might want look for some volumetric lighting tutorials and work with AE’s built in tools.-Andy
