I see them when I check the metadata of the captured clip in MediaInfo.

Also, if it’s of any use, I have an AJA Blackburst installed. It’s the AJA Gen10. I’ve flipped the dip switch on the back to HD and the sitches for 1080 and 59.94 are also flipped. I’m sending sync to the deck and the Kona breakout box.

To elaborate on the framerate issue, I just did two test captures at 29.97. One came out at 29.161 and the other at 23.985.

The frame buffer is set to 1080i29.97.
TC on the tape turns at 29, so is 29.97.

QT7 Pro Should still be on your system. I believe it gets put into the Utilities folder…also I recall an option on the OS update disc to install it.
I hope this helps you a little, but, yes, Google is your friend. 🙂

Interesting. Is this the plugin you’re referencing?

What other encoding software do you have available? The key is that you have a 6 minute video and a 500MB max size for the encode. From this, we know your max bit rate is roughly 11,000Kbps (11Mbit/s) (6 minutes is 360 seconds and 500MB is 4,09600Kbit)
This is plenty of bandwidth for a clean encode.

I’ve had this issue as well (except with MPEG-2 encodes), and unfortunately to do not know a solution.

November 3, 2010 at 4:44 pm in reply to: Sorenson Squeeze Sync issue with audio 23.97fpsHope it’s not too late to offer some help. By 23.97 do you mean 23.976 (aka 23.98) or 29.97. I assume you mean 23.97.
I’ve had some audio issues as well in Sorenson when encoding H.264s. Which encoder are you using? Also, using MediaInfo, what is the framerate of your encode when it comes out of Sorenson?

Yes, setup to downconvert.
So I think I can breath a sigh of relief. I guess sometimes you just need to step away from something for a bit, as yesterday I was troubleshooting and figured I’d get a head start on today’s trouble shooting by posting on COW.
Our deck was recently repaired, so I figured something got switched. I forgot that I had recently done a clean install of the Kona Control Panel. The Ref In setting was set on Free Run!
I like when it’s a simple fix, but don’t like when it takes hours to figure it out.
