The first question is how long is the documentary? Is it just 3 minutes? YouTube has a 15 minute duration max.
I’d encode the video with H.264.

First, just confirming that you source is 4×3 SD.
If so, in Compressor there are two sections in the Inspector palette to pay attention to. In the “Frame Conrols” tab, click the little gear button and turn the settings to “On”. For resizing filter, turn that to “Best” if time isn’t an issue, as you will be upconverting these while maintaining aspect ratio. Since you have 27 vids you may want to shoot for “Better” as you may not see a difference.

I’m not exactly sure what the issue was Rupert. I’m not sure if it was software, maybe drivers specifically, but it’s “resolved itself”.

Thank you Jeremy.
I was starting to suspect that it was the deck after the Kona Control Panel would not show me 1080p29.97, only 1080i29.97. I was second guessing myself though, as I’m not used to Panasonic decks, at least not this one with the crazy menu structure to change settings.
Anyways, time to call it a day.

So unfortunately the Blu-ray option didn’t pan out. I was able to get so close to making it work, at least it seems that way, haha.
The solution we went with was a passive 3D solution (polarized glasses). I’m not a fan of Acer computers at all, but they partnered with TriDef to make a 3D ready laptop with an HDMI out, so we chose it for convenience. We purchased this laptop, ran Stereoscopic Player on it, and went to a larger Mitsubishi 3D HDTV via the HDMI. The TV allowed for a larger viewing angle and was able to accommodate the 100 people at the meeting.
I encoded two 720p files (left and right) and selected them as the input sources in the player. I encoded QT H.264s at 5Mbps and playback was seamless.
