The station i upload to likes mpeg2. But I’m sure the station will tell you what they prefer.

It would probably be AVCHD. Thanks for the advice. I don’t really need it right now, I’m just kind of a gadget/hardware collector.

I think the biggest advantage of FCP is the Batch Capture where you can log your footage and then it will run through the tape and import just the footage you selected.

Rendering and encoding is processor intensive. More ram isn’t going to help you there.

no not daisy chaining. only thing connected is the g-raid.

I’m hesitant to buy an application when I’m not for sure that its going to work. None of those listed pieces of software have a free trail. Diskwizard does but its not for Snow Leopard.
I don’t see how a disk utility has the ability to “fix” my firewire port. I just installed Snow Leopard a couple months ago so its not like my system is super cluttered.
Thanks for the suggestion but I’m still looking for a solution.

is it images or video?
if it is images you can use QT pro. file/open image sequence/select the images/set frame rate. then you can save it as a .mov. you can choose h.264 and i’m sure some others, i can’t remember off the top of my head.

Well of course sd isn’t going to look great on a hdtv. I run into the same problem. I don’t know what your situation is but it is an hvx, shoot HD.
