you might try just dragging the clip into the timeline instead of pasting. I’m on 7 and this doesn’t happen to me. you could try the good ol trashing the prefs.

i don’t know if it will fix your problem but pro res hq is unnecessary in most situations. maybe just try pro res.

is final cut open when you are trying to copy the folder? it might be because final cut is using them. i can’t really think of any other reason why it wouldn’t copy.

7200 rpm is definitely the way to go.

personally i just capture to the internal drive and then move it to the external firewire drive.

make sure the camera is on and attached by firewire before opening final cut.
in final cut:
view –
video playback- apple firewire
external video- all framesthat should do it.

I don’t know if it will work with your camera or not but you could do a video “pass-through” with it. connect the camera to firewire and then hook the camera up to a tv. it works with my canon gl.

i just hold alt/option and click the audio track and hit delete. if you hold the shift key also you can highlight multiple tracks.

I will agree with you on the one.

They used canon xh a1’s to film Crank 2. They tried out a bunch of cameras and picked that one because it looked the best transfered to 35mm.
