They all run the latest versions of everything (not leopard though). I have seen this problem for a long time now, at least almost a year, so this problem has been around since quite early versions..

I am experiencing slowdowns on all our G5 quads at my job, they all have decklink hd cards. (the intels, and 2×2 G5s with decklink pro don’t have this problem)

I switched out the decklink card with an aja today, and now everything works out. It’s GOTTA be the decklinks that are doing this.

So I swapped out the decklink HD with a AJA Kona LHe and ALL the problems are solved. NO SLOWDOWNS !!!!

IT IS the decklink that is causing the problems.

We are experiencing the exact same problems on all our g5’s. The quads are much worse than any of the others. Memory and free space on the mediadisk has nothing to do with this. Changning from RT to Unlimited RT in the timeline fixes it for a little while. This bug has been haunting us since. hmm. well.. version 6 I think.

(we all use decklink cards)

I experience the same problems on alot of our quads G5s. Been like that since 6.0 I think. Nothing seems to work. One workaround is to turn off and on again realtime preview. EXTREMELY IRRITATING: Haven’t seen this on our intel macs

I have the same problem, and have had it for a long time. I thought the problem was introduced with fcp 6. Changing the timeline setting from unlimited realtime to safe and back again fixes the issue for some time.

That worked out perfectly. Now I only have to deal with the rs-422 problem. (look above)

Strange. After installing the second latest version (we run tiger), everything works out about 10 seconds, but then the aja card loses contact with the digibeta… video and sound works (through sdi), but remote does not. I am totally lost here.. Any idea what the problem could be ? (do I have to use ref.video ? How should that be patched.)

Sorry for all the newbie questions, but I am used to decklink

(quad core.. fcs 2.0.. xsan.. digibeta.. pal)

Eureka looks like they are out of business. I need a quick an easy solution to make alot of these dissolves and have been searching some more. Looks like Nattress might have a solution with their film effects.
