Well.. he has been working with FCP since 5.0 days and has just recently made the switch from FCP 7 to Premiere. It was the least painfull, and FCP X was never an option since nobody is using it in broadcast work.

This guy is traveling around the world making big international productions. (also for big US channels)

When editing music show the live editing is very precise.. I don’t know exactly how his workflow is concerning the cameraguys, but this guy knows what he is doing. This is just for preparation of the editing, the actual productions is as described by another guy on the Premiere Forum.

(Typically U.K. multicam music directors block out to a music script/score & have an experienced music script-super/AD count the bars & shots. Search YouTube for Hamish Hamilton and you’ll get an idea.)

  • Could you do it in AE? Just use Dynamic Link to AE and then add the effect?

  • Exactly what I am looking for.

What I CAN do is apply Timecode generator on all clips, but then it will count up, and not down.

Thats fantastic. Just a couple of more fixes and it will be just as good as FCP7.0 hehe.

Where can I read about the next version of Premiere??

Have Adobe released any more info?

Thanks for the reply, but it is not quite what I am looking for. I want to be able to define a folder all my assets end up in when I copy something from a timeline using the mediabrowers.

I work with big projects, and I can’t use the import function, cause that will make the project very very big.

IT WAS A BUG!! (I think)

If I start a new project and import everything into that new project, everything works. If I work with the old project everything is back to the select hell again.

Good to know that Premiere is “not supposed to work this way”

February 13, 2014 at 9:29 am in reply to: do people still use Avid?

Ahhh. How time flies. Final Cut was the dominating NLE in Norway for quite a few years, but after FCPX was released, people have moved on to Avid-Premiere. FCP 7 is still in use at the company, but I think this year will be the last.

January 1, 2014 at 7:28 pm in reply to: So long an thanks for everything FCP..

I work extremely fast in FCP. I never think about tracks, it’s just works. (Hey, it’s not AVID we are talking about.. hehe..). I know everything can be DONE in FCP X, it’s just that I find it extremely annoying the way I forced to do it.

I work with national broadcasting with thousand of hours of footage and multiple editors cooperating. To release FCP X without OMF export is a clear indication of what audience Apple are trying to reach.
