For the life of me I cannot identify a pattern. The mojo works like expected. It sends audio to speakers. The computer audio works outside Avid even with the Avid program open I can hear computer sounds and music. As soon as I hit play on the timeline the computer beeps and no sound. I’ve tried multiple projects with different audio sources…nothing. When it was working it would only work after I played in the windows control panel with Sounds and Audio control panel. It’s set to Laptop stereo speakers, I’ve tried Laptop mono speakers.

Once it worked after I unpluged a firewire cable but I have been unable to repeat this with or without the firewire cable.

I am not a PC person but the Mac sound works fine with or without the mojo. Without the mojo it goes right to the computer speakers but the PC wont do that.

I have a mojo but it’s with a MC system most of the time.
This particular project was not created with a mojo. The project I did before this one.. it worked some of the time but not all.
Out of the Avid I can hear quicktime videos play and web site noises but as soon as I open the Avid it just beeps when I hit play and no sound. The meters are jumping but no sound.

I wonder If I have a conflict with another application.

What drives are you using and how are they connected?

This may seem very obvious but next time it happens try hitting the ESC key. You might accidentally be in a mode that prohibits the normal playing functions.

I just heard today from a second source close to Sony that the 700 will not have 24p.

I talked to a Sony rep at an HD XDCAM 355 orientation and he said the the 700 may not ship with a 24p option!! At that point they just haven’t decided yet. That was about 2 weeks ago.

He also said that the main design hold up is that the chip set alone was 30k until recently.

    Earlier post:

The New President of Avid, Graham Sharp held an informal lunch at Keycode media in North Hollywood a few months back. I was one of about 30 people who attended. It was a casual Q & A session. I got that he is planning to bring avid back to the forefront. He is also well aware that we are all skeptical. A few things I took away from the event:

They are not going to build hardware unless they can add value. Other than that, third party hardware seems open.

They need to limit the editor line-up, currently there are 14 different edit systems.

XML support is being worked on.

The survey that they did showed Avid had the lowest customer satisfaction of any company that had been surveyed by that survey company.

And finally, there would be product announcements in February.

At one point I stated that Adrenaline EOL and he didn’t refute me. That speaks volumes.

That camera has SDI out. You can capture from that, although real-time, if you like. Buying a new editing system would be a knee-jerk reaction to a very temporary issue.

    Just my 2 cents

Come on Scotty I need More!!—

The FS 100 will capture DVCProHD, DVCPro50 and what it calls DVCPro/ DV25. It was set to the latter. Then it captures as Avid OMF format.
This works fine in AXP and MC2x. Copying the files wouldn’t work because they do not import and are not altered because they are already Avid OMF. I just bring them in with the media tool and drag to a bin instantly from the Firestore which acts as the hard drive. They are gathered by the media tool in the Adrenaline 12.x and dragged to a bin but the source window reads.. “Wrong format” when you double click it. They make it into the bin and register as DV25 but will not play. I think I’m looking for format options in the initial project set up for the Adrenaline.

The Adrenaline is not at this location. I’m trying to share the media with another editor at the local CBS affiliate.

Pay no attention to the man behind the Adrenaline curtain. Follow the software road.
