We need to know more about your system. Specifically, what video card, what driver for the card, what OS, what version of the OS (XP Pro 32-bit Service pack 2? OS 10.4?, etc…). What version of quicktime, what kind of processors, how much RAM, what version of Avid, what kind of storage, what kind of video are you cutting, etc…

Without more info, it’s hard to start offering suggestions.

    Michael.

What drives are you using and how are they connected?

This may seem very obvious but next time it happens try hitting the ESC key. You might accidentally be in a mode that prohibits the normal playing functions.

    Beam me up. Kirk out.
