  • Hi…

If you want to “overwrite edit” (non time ripping edit) and not eat other clips, edit to higher track as they have precedence.

there is no correlation too the Vegas function where media overlaps automagically create audio fade and transitions.

the keyboard shortcut you describe will apply the default video transition to edit points selected on the timeline.

There are separate shortcuts for quick adding video and audio transitions.

if you multi select edits and use the keyboard shortcuts, it will add the transitions to all the selected cuts.

Realize that Vegas came from the Soundforge base code…so much of that behavior came from a DAW mindset that was extended to video editing.

PPro didn’t start with that pedigree…so that mindset is not pervasive…(but that functionality does live in Adobe Audition (Adobe’s DAW), for example.

But I say….make the requests….because Adobe does listen…and the more ppl who make the request…the more likely it is to get implemented…

    oops WAIT…..sorry didn’t see the CS6 part…

I think smart rendering with ProRes was implemented after CS6…

so you may need to update if you wish to take advantage of that…

    thanks!

    Heya…

PPro uses an MPEG based codec for rendering intermediates in the timeline to start with.

if you switch that at the start in the sequence setting and maybe set up a sequence preset to use when when making new sequences….this can help…

also you need to tell PPro to use tho renders when exporting your master (aka smart rendering and exporting) or PPro will default to reencoding every frame at the time of exporting the master….

Adobe Media Encoder can do this.

    1) Open the latest version of AME
    2) Open prefs and set your default output folder
    3) Drop your PPro Project in and select 1 sequence
    4) Replace the default encoding setting with your desired encoding setting.
    5) open the setting attached to the clip to adjust
    6) in the fx tab enable image overlay, select your logo, scale and adjust opacity to taste.
    7) save the preset in case you need to do it again.
    8) drop your PPro project again and select the rest of your sequences. they should inherit all your current settings and destination including the logo.

    9) press play to encode.

check the results while encoding to make sure you are getting the desired result.

track patching is the likely culprit.

for any source you have loaded into the source viewer….

you need to make sure the source audio tracks are paired to the timeline tracks you want them to go to (left side of audio patch) AND that the timeline tracks are enabled to receive that audio(right side of audio patch).

otherwise you will not have success…

when you pass the clip to AE…

take the layer in the in AE and Precompose it.

then in the main comp (not the pre-composed one)

do the timewarp. this way only the exact frames will be considered…

September 11, 2014 at 4:11 pm in reply to: how do you export discrete mono audio channels with video?

I took a look thru the CS4 docs as it had been a while since I had been in there.

When you create a sequence, the default is stereo mastering.

You might try to create a sequence with one of the other options

    5.1 or 16 track.

this isn’t about input tracks, but output mastering….

you can have any number of source tracks that you want and they can all be mono…but it is getting summed to a stereo mix…this is what the file export is picking up.

see page 229-230 of the help file:
    https://help.adobe.com/archive/en_US/premierepro/cs4/premierepro_cs4_help.pdf

I can’t guarantee that the export tools as implemented in CS4 understand the multitrack routing as far as the output dialogue is concerned….you will have to test that for your particular formats.

But I think this is at least half of the battle….
