Fastest Way to Create Mass Sequences with Watermark

Create 50 individual 10 second videos. Each to have the same watermark.
All videos are the same format.
I can make 50 individual sequences and paste the watermark and individually import the video, but this will be incredibly tiresome.
Is there a way to automate creation of sequences to include watermark (on Video 2) and the primary video (on Video 1)?
The source video will be one long clip and I will have to individually set in and out points for the 10 second selection.

September 24, 2014 at 7:35 pmAdobe Media Encoder can do this.
1) Open the latest version of AME
2) Open prefs and set your default output folder
3) Drop your PPro Project in and select 1 sequence
4) Replace the default encoding setting with your desired encoding setting.
5) open the setting attached to the clip to adjust
6) in the fx tab enable image overlay, select your logo, scale and adjust opacity to taste.
7) save the preset in case you need to do it again.
8) drop your PPro project again and select the rest of your sequences. they should inherit all your current settings and destination including the logo.9) press play to encode.
check the results while encoding to make sure you are getting the desired result.

5) open the setting attached to the clip to adjust (Not sure how/where to do this. Would you please explain?)
6) in the fx tab enable image overlay, select your logo, scale and adjust opacity to taste (Where is the fx tab? Is this in in Premiere or AME?)
Other than that I think I follow your generous advice.
It appears I have to open and bring the video into individual sequences one at a time in Premiere? Is there a way to faster do this? I have a shortcut for “new sequence” and I set my end/out point and then a shortcut to place that clip onto the sequence. Any thoughts to expedite this process?

September 26, 2014 at 1:51 amI found a way to expedite and create new sequences but it seems a bit excessive due to limitations on Premiere Pro CS5.5. Perhaps a newer version has resolved or you know a work around in CS5.5?
First I set the in/out points in the source monitor. I then press my keyboard shortcut for “new sequence from clip”, but Premiere has “greyed out” the shortcut because by working in the source monitor it disengages the source file in the project bin. So now I have to mouse over and re-click the source file in the project bin and then the shortcut “new sequence from clip” works. So this added back and forth from source monitor to the source file in the project bin is frustrating (keep in mind I’m doing this 50 times a day).
I think when working with the source file in the source monitor and creating a new clip (setting in/out points) that when you next select “new sequence from clip” it should work. You shouldn’t have to go re-engage the original source file. I hope this has been corrected in a newer version or perhaps there’s a better way in CS5.5 and the shortcoming is with me. 🙂

September 26, 2014 at 10:45 amCS5.5….well that adds some wrinkles….no logo overlay in AME in that release…
let’s try this:
Have both PPro and AME open.
it’s good practice to initially set AME up with the encoding preset you want to use and set the preferences for the defual render location. I do this with one file, first so that anything I batch next will inherit those setups.
PPro
a) make a sequence with you long clip on v1 and your logo on v2b) resize, position, and adjust the opacity the 1 long logo clip so that it is they way you want it for all your clips.
c) using the razor tool (or ctrl/cmd k) you can add razor edits across both tracks) and extract (rippling) edits to get rid of all the parts you don’t need. This should leave you with your 50 clips on v1 and the 50 logo edits on v2. Or perhaps you just need to split it into 50 clips. if so, just add the edits, no deleting necessary.
d) for each vertical pairing of clip and logo, if you marquee select them, you can right click and choose nest. this will throw the pair into their own timeline. which you will see in your project panel. repeat this step for each pairing.
e) try to adjust your application windows so that both PPro and AME are in view.
f) selected all the created nest sequences in the Ppro project panel
and drag them to the AME window.They should then all queue up with your chosen preset ready to render to you chosen folder.
Sorry….some of this is is just plain repetitive. There have been major improvements since then that would make this easier. but this should work with what you have.

Before I reply to your query; good news! Have most recent version of Premiere Pro and AME (2014). Hope with the small exchange we’ve had you can again provide a fantastic expedited way to address my challenge of creating multiple sequences with a watermark.
QUESTION: “Is this one long clip split into exactly 10 sec segments or 10 segments from different places within the long clip?”
ANSWER: The segments (sequences) on average will be 5-10 seconds and they will come from one long clip of various footage (we used a joiner program and joined dozens of short individual shots into one clip).
Thanks in advance… i guess we are back to my original question/challenge and now you know I’m up to date with software. hope my new info provides a more expedited fix. Thanks again Alex!

Really this was just great. Saved us a lot of encoding/prep time with the automation of watermark. Thanks again!
