Very simple presets are available in AE to accomplish this.

good news:

right click column headings choose metadata display…
in the search field that appears type date…
enable date created field by checking it
close metadata window
scroll to the right in the project panel.

bad news:
this isn’t sortable yet
and it’s not really siftable…

BUT:
you can however make a new bin and drag your matches it into it

good news: looks like PPro gets a major update in this regard in the next release with metadata based bins.

This could be tackled in Ppro or Audition.

Dynamic Range “Compressors” are available in both.

in PPro if you can get the clips on to the same track, you can apply it as a track effect in the sequence audio mixer.

this would get you in the right ball park…and then you’d beed a lot less keyframes….

normal analog style time adjustments do yield pitch shifts.

however it is possible in audition to high quality time stretching while maintaining the original pitch.

but interaction is hit and miss….

In your timeline use the panel context menu to enable work area.

trim your work area to just aroud the area containing the clips.

in project panel choose the seq, right click, choose

Edit in Audition > Sequence

in the panel that pops set to work area

this will push soft edits to Audition as multitrack.

in audition you can edit as multitrack…

or bounce to a single track and edit that file

doesn’t seem to have a full round trip….

but that should get you a lot of the way there…

I can’t confirm this with 100% certainty.
However my initial research seems to indicate that sidecar workflows are not based on preference, but hard wired to whether the media container supports embedding or not.

If it can support embedding, than I don’t see a way of associating the external file.

Have you tried pairing a source and a sidecar, and simply setting the source media as READ ONLY at the OS level?

I don’t have any sidecars to try.

I did test setting some file types that support embedding as read only into PPro. Unfortunately, all that seemed to result in is custom schemas that were ghosted for the locked items.

really seems strange to me that this can’t be done.
