If your time-line is NTSC CIR 601 DV (720×480), the dimensions of you PS files should be
DV NTSC 4:3 720×540.That’s where your rendering problem is.Cheers

Raf, I had problems with QT7 after up-grading Snow-Leopard.

You could also try trashing the FCP prefs.
