    Hi Guys
My 3.5.3 version of Compressor has stopped encoding using Matrox Max. Without any software/firmware changes etc. It suddenly stopped outputing the encode to Max. Literally it encoded 2 short prores 1080 bits to H.264 for iPad then wouldn’t do the next one.

    Any ideas?

    It’s on a mac 12 core, 10.7.5

You’ll have to uninstall and reinstall the Matrox drivers Ken.

The drivers for I/O devices and other similar products that interface with FCP engine can often get corrupted, and they simply need to replaced by uncorrupt versions of the same drivers, or preferably newer versions, if their is a newer version that’s been released.

It’s a very simple process, starting with the uninstall app that’s located in the Matrox folder created in your Applications directory when you first installed the drivers. Then you simply reinstall new drivers downloaded from the Matrox Website.

    Hope this helps…

    Thanks David
Worked like a charm. But remember the days when we just dragged the prefs into the trash and opened the program again…

    You’re very welcome Ken!

I/O devices really do lose their drivers more than any other components going… Seems completely illogical, but the same thing happens with Matrox, Blackmagic, and AJA.

Wonder if anyone here ever had the issue with Bluefish? 🙂

David, below is essential information for solving software problems :-
The problems we have created cannot be solved at the level of thinking
we were at when we created them.

    Guess who wrote this?

I’m guessing someone like Bill Gates or Steve Jobs possibly?
