Not really correct.
The miniplug terminal takes the output from the XLR adapter, you MUST plug it in else the adapter is isolated and you are using the camera’s on-bord microphone/s ONLY.
So you can only record 2 different tracks (read your users manual for the adapter)
Once in FCP you can copy and paste either track, or dupicate and triplicate etc. etc. But remember you will only have two different origional souce tracks.

Frame rate and frame size are matched in presets. I think it will work with the HD preset, but ask Graeme gnattress@mac.com

To avoid confusion and get your work done, upgrade to CS and use the video size presets,
Worth the money to avoid errors and allow faster workflow.

PAL to NTSC by any serious plugin, or hardware converter will give you a better result, as the product has less data per frame.
Going the other way, data is predicted and added, so the quality will take a bigger hit.
What is your final output format? Hopefully it is NTSC, in which case convert your PAL material to NTSC first (yes, the Natress converter is good) and then import that into your NTSC FCP T-L and complete your project.

What are you actually trying to do?
If this for DVDSP, this is the wrong forum.
Seems that you should be using “Stories” in DVDSP to simply your project. If as you post, your project is 15 mins, why use 7 tracks? With Stories you can encode the whole sequence in Compressor, and use your Chapter markers to define the Stories. Navigation will be a whole lot quicker and smoother.
It’s all in the manual.

The audio problem is a well-know bug using Compressor, and the suggested work-around is standard practice, BUT use the exact same in and out points.
You don’t need to “re-sync it” in DVDSP, just substitute the audio asset and continue authoring.

You are sacrificing speed by using a 400, how much cheaper is it?

You realize that you are using different ports (shapes) on the one F-W bus. Depending on the situation you MAY get caught out capturing, then what?, you’ll have to rush out and buy a F-W 800 Card.
