A tiny smudge on the lens was not seen until later. Is there a way, though FCP or a compatible plug-in, to go in and digitally correct this? I’m still fairly new to FCP and the bag of tricks I have knowledge of is small indeed. I’m thinking there must be something that goes in and replaces the smudge pixels with copies of pixels that neghbor the smudge pixels.

Any help would be appreciated. – Rob

I just got the same assignment, one of our shooters had a spot on his lens that he needs removed or at least minimized. My plan is to bring the footage into AfterEffects, mask out the problem spot and fill the mask with the same piece of video shifted slightly to one side. His stuff is mostly nature stuff, running water and rolling clouds, so I may be able to get away with this. As I say, though, it’s the plan . . .

    Yes,
The CHV clone plug-in is really cool.
Easy to use on static camera shots. For pans you go frame by frame,
    Cheers
