Show the file as icon, not list or column.

  • Hmmm,
Has anyone compared upscaling with Innobits Video Purifier to that with Compressor?

[Rob Alexander] “l be using it mostly as a general computer but will certainly sometimes want to use it for mobile FCP work with an IO attached and maybe in the future an MXO2/IOHD for HD. “

    Neither,
You’ll need a fast processor with lots of RAM. The latest intel MBPs with 4G of RAM handle HD ok, but you’ll need an express card slot for the MXO2 (= an older 15″ or 17″, or the latest only the 17′)

[pedro casais] “No question about that, still I think there’s something about preparing yourself technically in advance before you get to the fun part which is editing.

….but you will only meet those “technical challenges” during a project, so go ahead, the challenges will appear and you will meet and beat them.
On-site learning, it’s the quickest way.

June 21, 2009 at 10:59 am in reply to: Who uses ‘broadcast safe’?

Just to ask the obvious here,
    1. Does the Range Check tool ensure the media is Broadcast safe?
    2. Do adjustments eg to Gamma settings in encoders for m2v blow out Broadcast safe media?

What other s’ware have you added that has shown this event?
Have you tried the express card solution as a test at least?, this will narrow the problem.

[Robb Helt] “I am at an Apple store and for some reason this is happening on all of their systems as well…..I mean my problem is that this has worked for a year without fail.
I AM SO CONFUSED…..someone here said it might be the latest 10.7 update to Leopard.

..so you took your drives and cameras to the Apple store and the only change in the system is the OS update?
They may well be right, but try the express card there.

    Hi Rob,
You really only have one fire-wire bus with both Macs, and you are bogging them down with too much data.
The iMac has only one f-w bus, and cannot be expanded, however you can get an express card for the MBP, with f-w ports, this will create a second separate f-w bus, and you can split the devices across these for better performance.

  • Get “MacDrive” to allow Windows to read the Mac formatted La Cie.
Do NOT format the LaCie differently.

  • Hi Teilman,
You can copy and paste the audio track to another exactly above or below, and adjust either/both as Michael said for your required effect.
