    1) Load the “default” library

    2) Add the “mouse” emitter to the stage

    3) open properties dialog for the stage emitter

    4) select “particles” tab

    5) select “change shape” tab

    6) select the “white 128” shape from the list and click the “make active” button.

    7) click the “colors” tab and make the gradient black instead of white.

Close properties dialog by clicking OK. You now have a black square. To make it a rectangle (not square), r-click on the “Size” property in the hierarchy and select “lock aspect”. Now you can adjust the x and y sizes independently.

  • 1) maximize pIllusion app window using standard titlebar “maximize” button

    2) Make sure your stage window zoom is set to 100%

    3) make sure your current project’s stage is 1280 x 720 (check the width and height boxes in the project settings dialog). Note that having the default stage size set in Preferences does not ensure that the current project settings match it.

    4) Render

That’s it. pI3 will maximize the stage window size to try and fit your output size. If it can’t fit the size you want (your desktop res isn’t high enough for instance) it will launch pIRender to do the actual render.

Is pIRender being launched? If so, and you’re still having problems, then you’ll want to launch pIRender manually, click the Options button, then turn off hardware acceleration.

Not at this time, but we’re getting close to having pIllusion AE (the plug-in version for After Effects) done. Then you’d be able to do what you want.

Man, I love those “hearts” Pro Emitters. Some of them are just so beautiful.

Oh, just thought of something else. In pI3 Prefs, OpenGL page, check the “do not request accumulation buffer” option, click OK to close prefs, then close pI3 and launch it again.

If that doesn’t work… If it were my system, I’d probably go to the previous version of the drivers (next-to-latest) and see if that works, then work my way back one version at a time. Worst-case you end up with the same version you had previously.

    Please post your results!

Most likely a video driver issue. Download the latest drivers from your video card manufacturer’s website.

Are the new drivers “released” or “beta” drivers? If beta, use the latest that are not beta and see if that fixes it.

If your friend wants to transfer his serial number to you, he has to contact support at wondertouch dot com and let us know this.

If this isn’t his own personal serial number, then you probably just bought an illegal copy.

Change the current project in the Project Settings, or make the change for all future projects in the Preferences.

You need to choose a good codec when saving to AVI or the quality will be terrible. I suggest DivX or xvid, or a lossless codec like Lagarith.

Maybe there is a problem with WMV in pIRender — we’ll check into it.

    BUT…

If you “remove” the WMV, then your project no longer has a WMV file in it, and it should work fine in pIRender, even if there is a problem with WMV in pIRender.

October 2, 2008 at 3:03 pm in reply to: DV AVI Import

You may be able to improve performance using the following tips:

    – In particleIllusion Preferences, OpenGL page, check the “do not use texture RAM for bg images” option

    – If you’re using a long movie (longer than 300 frames), see if you can break the movie up into shorter clips, and work on the short clips in particleIllusion

    – Convert the DV AVI into another format (DivX maybe?) or into a JPG image sequence and load that into particleIllusion instead.

Let me know if anything helped.
