Are you using regular motion blur or high-quality? If HQ, try regular. Also, are you generating fields?
Finally, are you running with software rendering or with hardware acceleration? You could try switching to software rendering, or try using pIllusionRender instead.

If you’re using pIllusion SE on OS X, then you can save a Movie with alpha. Just make sure you choose a compressor that supports alpha (such as “animation”) and make sure you choose the highest number of colors.

particleIllusion 3.0 for OS X will be released in mid to late July.

Well, I haven’t converted the emitter to work in SE yet. So much to do. If you’re interested in beta testing 3.0 for OS X, there are a few conditions:
1) you own SE for OS X already
2) you use SE for OS X quite a bit
3) you will use 3.0 for OS X during the beta test as much as possible (at least 5 hours a week)
4) (optional) you’ve used 3.0 on Windows so you know what it’s supposed to do.If you meet these criteria (or most of them), email support at wondertouch dot com and let me know you want to beta test 3.0.

Well it was made in 3.0, but I think I can make an SE version. Man, I can’t wait until I finish 3.0 for OS X. =)

I don’t think you have a complete installation. I recommend reinstalling.

Have you checked Elsa’s site? Perhaps their drivers work better?

I don’t know of one, but if somebody has some rose petal images, I’d be glad to create an emitter from it.

Make sure you change the shape image for each particle type in the emitter. Some emitters are made up of 2 or more particle types.
