You can’t undock the different windows. If using the larger virtual desktop works (even though you need to pan) why not use that for final renders?

pIRender will use hardware acceleration in the future. The Mac version of pIRender does already. So no need to buy a new monitor just for hardware acceleration.

Try not using the installation menu — go to the CD and double-click setup.exe.

    Also, try restarting.

You’re not getting any error messages?

April 19, 2006 at 7:26 pm in reply to: What is the best size and image format ?

Particle shapes must be powers of 8: 16, 32, 64, 128, 256, 512, 1024, etc. So the best thing to do is make your image width and height using these sizes. For instance, 512 x 128, 256 x 256, etc.

Is this a complex project? If so, try to make it as simple as possible, make sure it still has the problem, then zip it and send it to wondertouch support.

Yes, it is possible that MPEG movies will be handled by pI3 for Windows in a future version.

April 17, 2006 at 8:24 pm in reply to: Particle Illusion and Adorage?

Adorage uses pre-rendered clips, right? The rendered output of particleIllusion can be used in this way, but it’s not a respectable practice. In essence, they’re claiming work that other artists did as their own.

The grey area is if they modified the emitters before creating the clips. It’s possible that they changed enough so it’s similar to the library emitters but not exactly the same.

Try turning off the OpenGL hardware acceleration — click the ‘Options’ button (pIRender for OS X).

I don’t understand. The fireball goes “around” something? (First it’s in front, then it’s in back?) If so, look at this tutorial:

  • You don’t have 3.0. The exact version would be 3.0.1, 3.0.2, or 3.0.3. This information is on the “About” screen as I said previously. If you recently purchased (in the last 2 weeks) then you’ll have 3.0.3 already. Verify.

Then please give a step-by-step guide to reproducing the crash. I often get bug reports like “I was using a blocker and a smoke emitter”, but that’s not enough information. I guarantee I can add a blocker to a project with a smoke emitter and it won’t crash — it’s the specific actions you’re taking that I need to know about. For instance, how many points does the blocker have? Are the positions of the points animated? Is the blocker’s position animated? What about the blocker angle? What about Layer Offset?

The best thing to do is to first find the simplest project file that will still crash, then explain to me how to duplicate the project starting from a new project.

You don’t need to do this here — you can email wondertouch support directly.
