Particle Illusion and Adorage?
I recently posted some clips I made with PI to a movie making forum that I use…for others to use as background in their films…one guy made a neat film…and I saw two clips that looked like mine used in the film…when I thanked him for showcasing my clips…he said he didn’t use my clips…but got those clips from his Adorage “special effects” package that he had just bought. These clips “Stage Lights” and “Matrixy” were exactly like the PI clips. Does Adorage have a deal with PI to make these clips and package them to sell in their software?

Adorage uses pre-rendered clips, right? The rendered output of particleIllusion can be used in this way, but it’s not a respectable practice. In essence, they’re claiming work that other artists did as their own.
The grey area is if they modified the emitters before creating the clips. It’s possible that they changed enough so it’s similar to the library emitters but not exactly the same.
